New York Times buys popular word games 'Wordle'
The New York Times has purchased the popular word game Wordle for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.
The free and simple game platform has been created by software engineer Josh Wordle. The app was released last October and now it has millions of players.
The founder of the game said he is pleased to inform announce about the deal with New York Times. The success of the game is a little bit overwhelming and the game has got a little bit more popularity.
The Newspaper agency said in a statement about the deal with the gaming platform as it said that initially, the game will be free to play for the users. The game is the finding of a five-letter word in six guesses.
Mr. Wordle has released a statement in a tweet post as “long admired the NYT’s approach to their games with which they their players.”
The news agency said that it has bought a new game and as an entertainment platform a game Wordle from its creators at a specific price.
New York Times said in a statement “The Times remains focused on becoming the essential subscription for every English speaking person seeking to understand and engage with the world. New York Times games are a key part of that strategy.”

The game can be played in just a few minutes and the player needs to choose any five-letter word. The procedure is as follows-
- Any letter that is in that day’s word but the wrong place will change to gold color.
- If they are in the right place in the word they will be turned green.
- If they are not in the world, they turn grey.
Mr. Wordle has said ”Last year my partner and I got really into crosswords and word games and I wanted a game for us to play each morning as part of our routine,” said the creator.
